United Way supports Reading!
Yes, Virginia - Read is fundamental! The elves at United Way collected Boxes of books and donated them to our CincyAfterSchool programs. Site Coordinators will be able to offer an expanded library to their students of new and gently used books on topics such as astronauts, poetry, dinosaurs, goosebumps and George Washington. CBTC Gets Dramatic at Silverton
Heru Lasana, drama instructor with The Cincinnati Black Theatre Company, has been teaching students at Silverton CincyAfterSchool how to tap into their inner reindeer. Students use pantomime and improve skills to open crazy presents and invoke a little holiday spirit. The CincyAfterSchool Arts Drama Sampler will be visiting 19 sites this year helping kids build self-esteem and self-awareness through dramatic exploration.
