40 Developmental Assets
Asset #1
Family Support

Family life provides high levels of love and support.

Youth has a parent who admittedly loves them "to the moon and back" and is always there to listen.

THIS MONTH'S ACTIVITIES

Community Services Board for 2008
Steve Dobbins was elected Chair of our 2008 CSY Branch Board. He's been a "lifer" at the YMCA, as a child at the Melrose Y, as an adult he served on Melrose's and Metro's board. We couldn't ask for a more committed man to head our board. Eric Lanter will serve as Vice Chair. Simone Bess, Karen Ethridge, Allen Howard, Senator Eric Kearney, Andrea Laudat-Blackmon, and Ellen Prows are members at large. Ariel Dean is our youth representative. We are honored to have such an esteemed group supporting our endeavors.

Thanks District 4
According to the 40 Asset model # 32, it's never to young to help kids learn how to make career choices. Three police officers from Cincinnati Police District 4 will be coming to CincyAfterSchool sites to talk to the kids about career exploration. If you would like more information on this program, please contact Rochelle Morton.

May your candle burn brightly
We've made it through the holidays, schools go back soon, New Year's resolutions are in place, and now it's time to get back to work. May all the candles we've lit throughout the season, keep us warm and may all our work be fruitful and supported. Thanks for doing what you do to make this world a brighter place.
