HOW YOU CAN HELP

Global Youth Service Day
For the 3rd Year in a row, the YMCA was the lead agency for this initiative. Students partnered with the Mayor's Youth Council for a three day event: A youth service kick off at the Duke Energy Center on Friday;. Saturday, students worked with community members in the Great American Clean Up; and Sunday, students participated in the March for Babies walk. YWCPS volunteers rock!
Volunteers from Procter & Gamble's Young William Cooper Procter Society came out in full force on Saturday, April 26th to make a difference in the lives of our kids. They spent the day beautifying and cleaning the school site of John P. Parker School. Andrew Moore, pictured with Shauntel Poulson, saved around 3000 books from the landfill by donating his garage for storage until a new home for the books can be found. Finally, a big round of applause to Jessica Gmeinder, of YWCPS for coordinating the volunteers - her diligence really made it a great event.

Healthy Kids Day
Pleasant Hill CincyAfterSchool program, funded through the Community Services YMCA branch 21st Century Learning Grants, partnered with the College Hill Public Library and Girl Scouts Outreach Specialist, Camille Perry, during Healthy Kids Day, to provide a spa day for girls in their program. Students learned how to create bath moisturizers, give hand massages, and manicures. They learned being healthy includes feeling good about yourself.
