Thank you for choosing the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati!
Often
I hear that the YMCA's mission and commitment to the values of caring, honesty,
respect and responsibility draw people to the Y movement. Sometimes it's simpler:
the kids need to learn how to swim; we want to get in shape; our youngster has
an interest in gymnastics; we want excellent childcare while we're at work.
While
it may not be the character values that initially engage us with the Y, these
are the very principles that keep us coming back to our Y community for life.
And
it's because of these ideals that the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati strives to partner
with individuals, families, and communities to achieve abundantly healthy lives.
It's been that way for 150 years, and it's that way today. The Y strives to help
each person reach his or her God-given potential in spirit, mind, and body!
The
YMCA works daily to respond to the needs of families and communities. The YMCA
is the largest childcare provider in the area and serves 145,000 individuals each
year through 76 facility, program, and child development sites. What you may not
know is that the YMCA turns no one away for inability to pay for services.
So
if you, your children, or your family seek services but are unsure of your ability
to pay, ask a Y staff members about the YMCA for All Program.
If you have
the ability to give or want to help raise money to fund YMCA programs or support
participation for children and families, please let your local Y staffs connect
you to others who also want to assist.
The YMCA is powered by volunteers
who raise money, serve on branch committees of management, coach youth sports,
teach fitness classes, instruct adults and kids in aquatics, and donate professional
services.
I hope we can count on you as a member of the YMCA family--whether
member, donor, volunteer, or friend.
I look forward to working together
as we build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.
Sincerely,
Sandy Berlin Walker
