AOA CARDIO AND STRENGTH
Designed for the Active Older Adult wanting a cardiovascular program and low impact strengthening exercises using various equipment to help improve overall strength and endurance.
AOA DANCE FITNESS
Active Older Adults Dance Fitness is specifically geared to educate and instruct individuals who want an easy-to-follow program of cardiovascular, low impact exercise while having fun.
Designed for the Active Older Adult wanting a chair based exercise program that promotes flexibility, range of motion, strength, balance and coordination.
TRX for Active Older Adults is a low-impact TRX class. Learn basic moves to build strength and increase mobility.
Concentrates on strength, flexibility and balance using traditional yoga poses.
BALL AND BAR STRENGTH
A one and half hour combination class of a ball and bar for a complete workout.
A non-impact workout that integrates interval training with muscle shaping isometrics. These exercises will reshape your body by targeting the core muscles (thighs, gluts, abs) and sculpting the arms. Experience the benefits of the Barre rage without a bar!
A great workout for the beginner cyclist! During this time instructors will go over proper bike set up, hand positioning, and proper form while leading the participants through and energizing class full of flats, hills, sprints, and a variety of climbs.
A great cardio workout that uses an instructional step aerobic style for all fitness levels that incorporates elements of choreography, interval training and body sculpting using the bench and risers.
Class will focus on the basic poses, correct alignment, breath work, and movement to increase flexibility and strength for participants new to yoga.
Perform traditional belly dance moves in a fast-paced Zumba style format.
Barre Fitness™ is a full body workout that fuses the best elements of ballet, pilates, sports conditioning and stretching for a truly unique and fun experience. The moves are low impact but high intensity intervals of strength training followed immediately by deep recovery stretching. This regimented routine will evenly sculpt and quickly transform the entire body, resulting in a toned, trim physique.
BLAST is an exercise program specifically designed for people with developmental disabilities. The program adapts exercise to ensure participants can perform the exercises at their own level. The class includes swimming, cardiovascular, strengthening, balancing and stretching exercises.
Body Pump is the original Les Mills barbell class that sculpts, tones and strengthens the entire body.
Boot camp is a high energy, super toning, fat burning workout using military strength and stamina training movements. If you want to get into shape quickly and effectively and have fun while doing it, then boot camp is for you!

CYCLE + TRX
An indoor bike ride that simulates situations similar to riding a bike outdoors. Some movements include hill climbs, sprints and interval training to increase your cardiovascular endurance. TRX follows this class focusing on increasing muscle and core strength. These two classes will give you a total body workout.
A fun and energetic way to help improve cardiovascular fitness while dancing the time away with friends. Instructors will lead the class through a variety of dance movements and fitness techniques for added toning benefits.
A fun way for the 3-6 years old to unleash some of that energy! They will shake their tail feathers to today's hits while learning how to exercise, eat right and most importantly how to keep a positive attitude.
A slower traditional practice of the asanas (postures). Beginning the pranayama (breathing exercise to center and connect to the breath). This class moves slowly as the instructor gives detailed instruction into and out of each asana. Perfect for the beginner or experienced practitioner. Each class will leave you feeling stronger, with better balance and flexibility in the joints. This class is suitable for all levels of practice as well as all levels of physical health.
High Intensity Interval Training is a type of cardio training in which you alternate short, very high intensity intervals with longer, slower intervals to recover. This type of training has been shown to not only help with athletic performance, but also improve the ability of the muscles to burn fat.
A balance of forward bends, back bends, twists and inversions held for longer periods of time focusing on alignment and breath, One will develop core strength, range of movement, and flexibility of the body, breath and mind.
Class uses a method of Max Interval Training which includes cardio and plyometric drills with intervals of strength, power, resistance, and core training. It all happens in long bursts of maximum-intensity exercises with short periods of rest.
In-Trinity is an elevated fitness board and training program designed to build strength, balance and flexibility, coordination and agility. The incredibly versatile board is a refreshing complement to existing exercise protocols and presents opportunity to enhance and re-imagine a variety of training regimens or independent exercise.
Cardio and strength combined in a fast paced workout using 10lb or more kettlebells.
A fun cardio workout incorporating boxing/martial arts style moves, including various punches and kicks; along with other “ring” style drills, bob & weave, shuffles, jump rope, etc.
Pilates is a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the total body. The blend of strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress, and lean muscles without bulking up. Participants will use a mat for floor exercises and/or ball or ring at the instructors’ discretion.
A unique blend of Pilates & Yoga with a cardio feel. Stretch, strengthen and work up a sweat.
Class begins with centering and breath awareness then moves through a series of dynamic sun salutations to warm the body up. The class continues a balanced and challenging routine of forward bends, back bends, hip openers, inversions and twists connected with Vinyasa. This class is suitable for the beginner to intermediate practitioner of average physical health.
The One Stop Body Shock™ is a "Plateau Proof Fitness Formula" that helps you to create continuity, consistency and challenge in each and every R.I.P.P.E.D. class. Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

An aerobic packed energizing class that will lead you through a variety of basic choreographed moves using a bench and risers. Participants can increase or decrease the intensity of their workout by raising or lowering the height of their bench.
STEP AND STRENGTH
A great cardio and strength workout for all fitness levels that incorporates elements of choreography, interval training and body sculpting using the bench and risers.
Basic full body stretching techniques to increase flexibility.
Practiced as a graceful, low impact form of exercise to help reduce stress by putting minimal pressure on muscles and joints, and aiding with a variety of other health conditions. Tai Chi works on a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner, and accompanied by deep breathing.
A highly effective 20 second work/10 second rest format is guaranteed to get results. Get ready to be challenged through intervals of sprints, hills, jumps and climbs, all set to motivating, pedal pushing, heart pumping music.
TRX SUSPENSION TRAINING®
Suspension training workouts give participants an edge over pure protocol of conventional strength training. Why? Because every suspension training exercise builds true functional strength and improves flexibility, balance, and core stability all at once, as is required on the playing fields of sports and in life.

VINYASA FLOW YOGA
Movement is synchronized to the breath; this term covers a broad range of yoga classes. This style is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Vinyasa is literally translated from Sanskrit as meaning "connection," In terms of yoga asana, we can interpret this as a connection between movement and breath.
This class focuses on directing the stimulation deeper than the muscular tissues, targeting the connective tissues such as ligaments, joints and even bones that are not normally exercised in an active style of practice. It emphasizes muscle relaxation, will increase range of motion and is suitable for all levels.
Yoga classes will focus on the basic poses, correct alignment, breath work, and movement. Modifications will be offered throughout class allowing for beginners and more experienced participants to increase flexibility and strength.
The benefits of yoga and Pilates can be found in yogalates by combining the strength of Pilates and the flexibility of yoga. With improved breathing, circulation and energy yogalates will help to increase your ability to burn calories.
YOUTH DANCE FITNESS
Children and Youth between the ages of 3-13 will enjoy a fun and energetic class that improve cardiovascular fitness. Participants perform basic dance moves, games and kid friendly activities to playfully burn calories and give mom and dad a little rest.
This class is a fusion of Latin and International music combined with beginner to more advances dance moves to create a dynamic and effective workout; add in laughter, energy and sweat and you’ve got ZUMBA®!
Zumba® Gold is great for Active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity.
Zumba® Step increases cardio and calorie burning, while adding moves that define and sculpt your core and legs.

After you complete a work out, visit the ActivTrax® kiosk (available at most YMCA facilities) and enter your username and password. FUN 2B FIT
Fun 2B Fit is a program designed to reverse the trends of childhood obesity by combining fun and exercise. In a group setting, children participate in non-competitive activities and begin to learn what living a healthy lifestyle is all about. The child’s BMI must rank in the 85% or higher or have a doctors’ referral to participate.
GIRLS ON THE RUN
Girls on the Run is a running based transformational program for girls in third through eighth grade. Small teams of 8-20 girls will meet two times a week for 12 weeks to learn life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. Certified coaches inspire and motivate the girls to become physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. Contact your Welcome Center for more information.
HOME SCHOOL SWIM AND GYM
This program caters to children, ages 5-12 that are homeschooled. It is a great way to incorporate the physical education aspect of the home school educational criteria. The program is held in both the gymnasium and pool and emphasizes skill development with fun games and activities.
Teenagers, 12-15 years-old are required to complete this one-on-one orientation to have access to the fitness center. Teens will be taught how to use the cardiovascular and weight machines in a safe manner, learn the rules and regulations, and even determine how to calculate their target heart rate. Teens will also be educated on the basic principles of nutrition, flexibility, and major muscle groups.
TEEN FIT PLUS
Teenagers, 12-15 years-old are required to complete this one-on-one or group orientation which takes place one day a week from four weeks. Teens will be taught how to use the cardiovascular and weight machines in a safe manner, learn the rules and regulations, and even determine how to calculate their target heart rate. Teens will also be educated on the basic principles of nutrition, flexibility, and major muscle groups in this four week program. Cost is $30.
*A professional recommendation will be made to the member on which program is appropriate for their experience.

The Boone County Senior Center, Florence Senior Activity Center, and the Walton Senior Center provide physical, recreational, and educational opportunities to seniors in our community. We welcome adults age 60 and over to come join in the fun! Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. each day to those who have made a reservation one day in advance.
