HEALTH & FITNESS CENTER
To ensure your safety and smooth transition into your Health & Fitness Center workout, we encourage all members to schedule (2) two one-hour “personal fitness orientations” with our trained staff. Schedule your orientation by calling 791.5000. (Youth 13-15 years of age are permitted to use the Fitness Center when they complete Teen Fit.)

TEEN FIT (10522)
Ages 13 - 15

Provides the education and experience to live healthier lives through fitness, strength training, basics of anatomy, flexibility, nutrition, and injuries and prevention and the four core values.. Ages 13-15* required to complete course for access into fitness center. Learn proper operation of all fitness equipment, design workouts, exercise intelligently, safely, and effectively. *Ages 16-17 encouraged to participate. 5 week sessions

FUN 2B FIT
This 12-month group intervention program is for overweight youth ages 8-13 and their families. The program emphasizes the use of behavioral skills to help establish healthier eating patterns and a more physically active lifestyle within a supportive family environment. A group of 15-20 children and their families will meet weekly for the first three months, and then attend monthly “booster sessions” along with a regular exercise routine over the next nine months. During the initial phase, participants and families will meet with a registered dietitian and a certified fitness professional. Additionally, children will participate in one-hour group exercise sessions three times a week offered in a non-competitive environment. New classes will begin in Fall.

are included below. To find out about class times and locations please pick up a schedule at the service desk. Schedules are updated bi-monthly. Teenagers age 13 & up may participate in Adult Fitness Programs. (Pilates not included)

  • STEP & STRENGTH
    (Beginner to Advanced Fitness Level) A 75 minute class divided into 45 minute Step and 30 minute weight training sessions.

  • STRENGTH CIRCUIT
    An Interval class using Body Sculpting with a twist. Intervals of jump roping and toning segments combined for a great workout.
  • DANCE AEROBICS
    (Beginner to Advanced Fitness Level) For those seeking a creative workout. This combines high and low impact steps for a challenging cardiovascular conditioning program. This class is for dance enthusiasts looking for a total body workout. Toning and firming is included.

  • BODY SCULPTING
    Lift weights in a classroom setting to firm and shape the upper body (arms, chest, back) and lower body (hips, thighs, abs). Participants work with hand weights to improve muscle tone, flexibility, and posture. Balls and bands may also be used.
  • BAR STRENGTH/CARDIO BAR
    MEMBERS ONLY
    Bar strength utilizes challenging choreography in a 45 minute class using individual barbells. Cardio bar includes this same dynamic format adding a cardio circuit component.
  • SILVER SNEAKERS I
    Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

  • SILVER SNEAKERS II
    Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.

  • YOGA
    MEMBERS ONLY
    For all fitness levels. Stretch, tone, strengthen, breathe, relieve stress, and energize with traditional Hatha Yoga.

  • YOGALATES
    MEMBERS ONLY
    This new format combines the best of Yoga and Pilates for a dynamic strengthening and conditioning class.

  • PILATES
    MEMBERS ONLY
    This mat-based class will help to improve core strength and body alignment. Join anytime.

  • GROUP CYCLING
    MEMBERS ONLY
    Participate in our cycling class to improve cardiovascular endurance and strength. You can reserve a bike by phone one hour before class time. For early morning classes, phone reservations are taken the evening prior. Space is limited due to the number of bikes.

  • ZUMBA
    MEMBERS ONLY
    Zumba uses interval training and a combo of fast and slow rhythms to help burn calories while toning & sculpting. Zumba includes merengue, salsa, mambo, cumbia, rumba, flamenco, raggeaton, & calypso. Fun and easy, but a serious workout!
  • FAMILY FITNESS
    MEMBERS ONLY
    Our Family Fitness room (in the Ferris building)
    offers strength-training equipment appropriate for both children and adults and with a qualified staff member available to assist families in learning how to use the equipment. Stop by and pick up a schedule

    FREE to members. This class is a great family-friendly way to stretch, relax, and workout together. 2nd & 4th Thursdays of the month in Main Studio 5:45pm - 6:45pm.
  • KIDACTIVE
    MEMBERS ONLY
    M/TH 4:00 - 5:00pm Ferris Studio
    KidActive is a free fitness class for kids ages 7-13. Physical activity is promoted in a fun, non-competitive environment. KidActive focuses on improving flexibility, strength and cardiovascular health.
