Anderson Barracudas YMCA Swim Team
The Barracuda philosophy is centered on the premise that the long term developmentof each swimmer is of the utmost importance. Much time is spent on the group placement of each athlete. Keeping in line with this philosophy, our swimmers do not participate in doubles or enter the weight room until they are sophomores in high school. Steady, successful progress is what the coaching staff strives for. We want our athletes to “peak” when they are older and not when they are young age groupers. In addition, we offer different levels of competition to each swimmer but allow them to choose what meets and the number of meets they compete in throughout the season. Stroke technique, drills and race strategy are emphasized from the beginning.
