The
Dayton YMCA Teen Center serves over 80 youth each week with an average of 50 per
day. Located 2 miles east of Newport on the Levee, Dayton is a small city of over

With the highest drop-out rates in the tri-state according to the United
Way's Agenda for Community Impact, Dayton students need the kind of caring
support they receive from YMCA
staff. Our asset-based approach has begun to yield some positive results. Parents
appreciate the positive messages they receive about their teenagers when YMCA
staff members call home. (One youth asked that staff call his home more often
-- perhaps a result of the $10 his mom gave him for a good report!) Click
